Effect of addition chaotropic salts into the mobile phases on separation in hydrophilic interaction chromatography was studied. Four columns, twelve modelling analytes and thirteen mobile phases were used.
Interesting phenomenon were observed. Ammonium formate buffer with hexafluorophosphoric acid addition has positive effect on retention behaviour of p-toluenesulfonic acid, 4-hydroxybenzenesulfonic acid, nicotinic acid and ascorbic acid.
