Poster presented on the International Conference of Environmental Psychology 2019 shows the results from on-line survey examining environmental preferences for post-mining forests. The findings demonstrate that forests without visible traces of previous human activity are preferred but only when participants were not provided information on the location.

Furthermore, people living in post-mining districts find forests with no visible traces on human activity less attractive than non-resident population when no information was provided. This indicates that their preference is negatively affected by familiarity with post-mining forests.
