Czech schools have not enough support in implementation of participation of children (teachers have no possibility to learn it in teacher's preparation on university, schools have no good conditions to run school councils, they struggle for time, place, money), and they often have to deal also with part of collegium and even parents, that doesn't support this idea (teachers often worry about their autonomy, because they think that children will have too much power). Significant is that huge amount of teachers feel powerless (they just try to do the best within the system, but they feel that they cannot change the system at all).
Aim of the research is to to investigate what barriers teachers and headmasters see on the way to effective participation and what strategies helped them to overcome these barriers. The topic will be investigated through multiple case study of three czech schools with rich experience with participation of children.
