Ludmila Matiegková (1889 - 1960) was a woman private scholar of Egyptology. She visited Egypt three times (1926, 1927 and 1929) and she also travelled in Palestine (1927).
The chapter shows how her writings from the later 1920s and early 1930s, e.g. the letters, the articles on Egyptology or the popular novel of travel, reflected her reception of visited areas.
