Abstract

The analysis of Bābur's poems is obstructed due to the lack of its critical text. Nevertheless, thanks to the efforts of the Japanese orientalist Eiji Mano on the development of a scientific text of his autobiography, it became possible to study the lyrical compositions.

The main criterion while considering those poetic works is, of course, their presence in manuscripts of the dīvans or other coeval tazkiras and biographies. This kind of approach would enable the further research on the development of a critical text of all poems composed by Bābur.

This article aims to examine the existing types of poetic works in Bāburnāma, namely, the anonymous verses. Based on the fact that the lines of well-known composers as well as poems of the author require a more thorough research, they will be discussed in a separate paper dedicated on the related topic.
