Regulation of micro-plastics through existing legal instruments

Abstract

The aim of this article is to analyze the possibility of regulating micro-plastics by means of already existing international agreements especially by the Basil Convention and the Stockholm Convention. Further, the author discusses the problems of legal determination of micro-plastics and the new proposal of ECHA on restriction and prohibition of the use of certain intentionally added micro-plastics, which should regulate intentionally added micro-plastic more complex than current national legislation.
