Th is article presents a comparative analysis of the current music educational systems in the United Kingdom and the Czech Republic, exploring the approaches to music pedagogy in both countries. Th e contribution outlines the differences and various impact between a largely state funded music tuition system in the Czech Republic and a mostly privatised system in the United Kingdom.
Phenomena such as the awareness of the public in regards to a free music education, the existence and role of charities in a privatised environment, or the different methodology and evaluation in each country. In conclusion it is observed that the differences in the sources of funding derive into completely diverse perspectives of music education, its goals, achievements and more importantly, accessibility.
