Abstract

The article analyzes pedagogical content knowledge in art education. The results of the interpretation of a specific work of contemporary art are reflected in terms of the development of visual literacy.

Presented painting opens intertextual links to other works of art and historical contexts. Recognition and reflection of these relationships and contexts leads to the development of critical viewing.
