Three cases of late manifestation1 of congenital colorectal anomalies in patients with long - term chronic constipation have been demonstrated. One 23 year - old - women with an anorectal malformation and two patients (one male, one female) 16 years of age with a chronic form of Hirschsprung disease were identified.
All cases were treated succesfully by surgical repair. In the case of woman: with an anorectal malformation- perineal fistula, a minimal posterior sagittal anoplasty was performed.
In the cases of Hirschsprung's disease aganglionic bowel was resected.
