Abstract

The author describes dilemmas and paradoxes of teaching profession and teacher education from point of view an education policy, pedagogical theories and research and school practice. It shows a changeful teachers´position in political background.

In the article are analyzed: problems of initial teacher education and professional disciplines in studies new paradoxes which the curriculum reform of schooling brings some dilemmas in pedagogical theories nad research mythes about teaching profession problems inside profession. One part gives attention toward the Czech Ministry of Education support and supporting research and development projects.
