Abstract
The paper reacts to current problems of contemporary music education in connection to the historical tradition of cantor - a teacher and a church musician and it commemorates the figure of Jan Josef Dusík, a Čáslav (Czaslau) canto and organist Dusík - a cantor as an inspiration for a contemporary music teacher.
