Environmental Crime on the Rise: Considering the Phenomenon from the Legal Viewpoint

Abstract

Environmental crime is a very serious branch of crime that endangers environment and human health. The involvement of organized groups, high profits and relatively low risk of punishment makes it a real concern of today.

In order to fight against this crime successfully, proper legal instruments must exist and work in practice. In thi article, the concept of environmental crime is discussed from the legal point of view and the most important legal means are analyzed.

Future development of the legal regulations in the area of environmental crime is considered in the conclusion.
