The thesis aims to examine the life stories of young Muslims, representatives of the second generation and to observe how their identities are formed and how they negotiate them themselves through the family, cultural and broader social environment. How do young Muslims imagine their life in the Czech Republic, a relatively atheistic society; what difficulties do they experience in the context of the family in a majority society that differs from education within the Muslim tradition.
The main categories that I follow in my research are the relationship to religion, education, family background, intergenerational and partnership relationships and orientation in society (in terms of civic values).
