Abstract

Metapopulism is a concept, which can replace and update classical concept of populism that does not fully reflect contemporary socio-political situation. Metapopulism can better describe the latests trends and political power.

We can take Putin's regime in Russia, Donald Trump's in the USA or Brexit campaing in the United Kingdom as its examples. Hauser is trying to analyze these political groups, to find shared features and understand how they work and what is the reason for their existence.

I also want to introduce possible alternative to metapopulism in the last chapter. This alternative is a growing social class called precariat.

Nowadays, the concept of metapopulism is described only in Michal Hauser's work in English. This is the first encounter with this concept in Czech.
