The Image of the Famous Knight John Žehrovský of Kolovraty in the "Commentarius brevis et iucundus itineris atque peregrinationis ... susceptae ab Illustri et Magnifico ... Domino Leone ... de Rosmital et Blatna..."

Abstract

The article focuses on the knight John Žehrovský of Kolovraty, who became an important member of Leo's of Rožmitál journey to Western Europe in the years 1465-1467. There are two important travel diaries from this journey - Gabriel Tetzel's (in German) and Václav Šašek's of Bířkov.

Based imprimis on Šašek's travelogue, the article describes Žehrovský's image and his admirable deeds.
