Singing posture from the perspective of physiology of movement

Publication at Faculty of Education |
2020

Abstract

The aim of the workshop will be to point out to the crucial importance of healthy posture not only for voice formation (singing performance) but also for our day to day life. We will go through the individual parts of the body, demonstrate where undesirable stress and tension may occur.

Finally we will explain how it affects the voice formation and we demonstrate how to relax them. We will look at this issue through the prism of developmental kinesiology and yoga.

The workshop will be practice oriented. Participants will have the opportunity to experience the difference that correctly held posture can make to their singing performance.
