Abstract
The invention provides new general formula I arylbenzothiazolylurea derivatives and pharmaceutically acceptable alkali metal salts, ammonia or their amines, or acid addition salts where R 1 is selected from -COOH, -COO (C 1 -C 4 alkyl), -CONH 2, -CONH (C 1 -C 4 alkyl), -CON (C 1 -C 4 alkyl) 2, -NH 2, -NH (C 1 -C 4 alkyl), -N (C 1 -C 4 alkyl) 2, -NHCO (C 1 -C 4 alkyl), -N (C 1 -C 2 alkyl) CO (C 1 -C 4 alkyl). These new aryl benzothiazolyl urea derivatives are inhibitors of betaamyloid alcohol dehydrogenase (ABAD) enzymatic activity.
The invention also includes a method of preparing them and their therapeutic use in treating Alzheimer's disease and / or dementia.
