The paper deals with selected institutes brought by the current amendment to criminal regulations. These include the introduction of the institute of a declaration of guilt, the extension of the applicability of an agreement on guilt and punishment, as well as indisputable facts.
The adversarial nature of criminal proceedings is strengthened by the introduction of a new obligatory part of the indictment (introduction of a motion to impose a sentence or waiver of punishment) and also by the accused's initial statement on the indictment. The amendment is a significant shift towards the Anglo-American model of criminal proceedings.
