Freedom of Conscience in the Czech Reformation

Publication at Protestant Theological Faculty |
2020

Abstract

The emphasis on freedom of conscience and religious toleration which made frequent appearance in the Czech Reformation was later confirmed by the European Reformation. However, the demand for this freedom was suppressed for a long time by the rulers of the Czech lands after the 30 Years War, in the name of the alleged one and only true knowledge.
