The article compares three selected regions around the towns of Jáchymov, Most and Klad-no, comparing mining and post-mining landscapes on old maps and in modern aviation pho-tography. Another aim is to use selected old maps and state map series of the three regions to present specific landscape elements in the territories and to discuss the possibilities of these products for the study of mining landscapes.
