Musical talent is a frequently discussed topic. This paper aims to present the issue of talent and the aptitude from the perspective of special education.
We found out whether talent is a given constant with the help of qualitative research methods. Our results suggest that the current understanding of musical talent can be counterproductive for the student.
Based on our knowledge, we are convinced that scientific theories from the field of special education can be beneficial for music education. In particular, the concept of multiple intelligences offers considerable opportunities not only for music education.
