Abstrakt
The article introduces several legal issues arising from the emergence of a relatively new class of assets - the cryptoassets with a focus on the Israeli legislation. At first basic terms regarding the topic such as the term itself, distributed ledger technology, different kinds of tokens, Initial Coin Offerings (ICO's) and Security Token Offerings (STO's) are introduced.
The first part is dedicated to the legal status of cryptocurrencies. Issues regarding the money laundering and terrorist financing follow.
The last part is dedicated to the ICO's, STO's and future developments in more detail.
