The study investigates current public signage in two districts in Prague in a view of potiential societal bilingualism. The corpus comprises over 1 000 public signs collected from four prominent streets.

The criteria employed in the multiaspectual analysis include clusters of formal/visual (e.g., salience and prominence), purely linguistic (e.g. role of verbs) and sociolinguistic ones (e.g. global vs local signage). The research points to a relatively sound status of Czech vis-a-vis globalisation.
