We appreciate the comments of Mégarbane et al. regarding our previous article published in CLINICAL TOXICOLOGY. They add interesting data on patients with cocaine intoxication that require direct admission to the intensive care unit (ICU), and compare powder-cocaine and crack-cocaine cases.
Their findings are similar to those from our report, showing that those with acute powder-cocaine toxicity more frequently develop central nervous system and stimulant cardiovascular effects than those with acute crack-cocaine toxicity.
