This chapter surveys the work of Scottish playwright, David Greig. It traces developments in his work since the 1990s, focusing on three principal, interconnected aspects of his work pertaining to the global, local' and political.
The chapter offers analyses of nine major plays and considers the ways Greig's recent work has involved an overt awareness of and attention to audiences as participants in creating affective spaces of the performance through the use of choruses, music and direct address.
