This chapter attempts to analyze the perceptions of the Greek crisis of 2010 to 2015 through the pages of three major Czech daily newspapers. The analysis also focuses on examining the catchwords "Greece","Greeks" and "Greek Crisis" through the Czech National Corpus, which annually gathers all relevant news reports from all newspapers and from the country's magazines.
Secondly, the analysis deals with a selective assessment of statements made by the most important political representatives of the Czech Republic in relation to the Greek crisis. The aim of this chapter is to identify a possible change of Czech public opinion towards the Greeks and Greece in the time of crisis.
The analysis is methodologically based on the theory of framing and on the stereotype theory.
