Article deals Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) is an important tool for integrating environmental considerations into the preparation of certain plans and programs which are likely to have signifi cant effect on the environment. According to Czech legislation, SEA covers all national and regional plans and programs prepared in sectors where there is a link to the environment (industry, transport, energy, waste management, urban-planning etc.), if they set the framework for future development consent of projects listed in annex of the Act.
Consultations both with public and relevant authorities and bodies are an essential part of SEA.
