Abstract

The publication provides an insight into Swiss snow law, which deals with safety in winter sports, with special emphasis on skiing. The monograph thus introduces the Swiss issue of safety of snow sports activities, describes the current legislation, the decision-making practice of the Swiss judicial system, the views of the professional public, including possible starting points.

The first part provides a historical excursion and a description of current legislation. In the second part, he clearly describes and comments on the SKUS Directive (Swiss Commission for the Prevention of Accidents on Downhill Slopes for Snow Sports), which can be considered the focus of legal regulation.

The third part is devoted to the selection and brief analysis of Swiss judicial practice with an overview of relevant court decisions. The appendices form the Czech translation of the SKUS Guidelines.

The book is intended for representatives of the judicial professions, as well as lovers of snow sports, professional and sports institutions, outdoor workers, and especially operators of ski resorts and ski transport facilities.
