Psoriasis is a chronic systemic genetically determined immune-mediated disorder affecting approximately 2% of the population, which is associated with many comorbidities, especially cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, but also psychiatric disorders, such as anxiety and depression. As a disfiguring skin condition psoriasis significantly impairs quality of life and increases psychosocial comorbidities.
These in turn increase psychosocial stress and perpetuate a vicious cycle with implications on work productivity of the patients.
