Abstract
The review presents a popularization book, How to Write Dictionaries or Lexicography for Everybody, comprising six larger thematic units devoted to basic lexicographic concepts and dictionary typology, the selection of entries and methods of excerpting, in particular neologisms, typology, structure and content of dictionary entries, ways of interpreting the meaning of words, use of synonyms and examples, word formation , technical names, farces and non-writing, dialect and one-language dictionaries and a list of bibliography. The rich illustrative material is drawn mainly from the main dictionaries of Czech and from selected special and translation dictionaries.
