Abstract

The aim of the text is to present the possibilities representation of subject participants with a selective semantic feature + animal in Czech, ie on which animals we can say in Czech that they can go. The verb to go in its prototypical meaning describes the movement of a man, this movement is anthropomorphically transmitted to animals and the description of their movement.

However, this verb cannot be used in Czech about all animals. In the text, we present a small probe comparing the distribution of the verb to go to selected animals.

The probe was performed on both native and non-native speakers. Subsequently, we reflect on which features associated with the walking movement of animals are essential for the natives to consider it acceptable, resp. unacceptable.
