Abstract

This work presents and analyses the Czech couterparts of Italian multiword expressions identified in Italo Calvino's Visconte dimezzato (1952). The only available Czech translation of the Calvinian text, Rozpůlený vikomt (Z.

Digrin, Naši předkové, 1970), was used as the source text. The analysis of phraseological data is preceded by the presentation of the main features of the Czech language.
