Part of a larger multidisciplinary research project dealing with Velký Krtíš in Southern Slovakia, the text departs from a still, unchanging and isolated reality of the city to engage in speculation about the potential of (self)care and (self)aestheticisation as a possible resistence against capitalism's colonisation of mental life and (leisure) time. Connecing certain ideas of accelerationism with Wilde's dandyism, it also engages into a broader reflection on poetics of (time) wasting.
