Abstract
This presentation deals with documenting the similarities between Ammianus Marcellinus and Xenophon by taking Xenophon's description of Cyrus' death in 'Anabasis' and Ammianus' that of Julian in 'Res Gestae' as its departure point and tries to convince the audience of its implications for Greco-Roman historiography.
