Abstract
The paper is devoted to the Victor Shklovsky's concept of the defamiliarization and to possibility of its use in the evaluation of the new buildings in the old settlements. A lot of these buildings are shaped today as "archetypal houses" with the saddle roofs and these works fit well to the historic contexts, however, it begins look like cliché familiar for us too much.
Maybe it would be suitable to try in some cases of this kind the operation of the defamiliarization.
