Abstract
The paper focuses on a special type of business of the socialist state at the turn of the seventies and eighties of the 20th century in the developed market space in the segment of inland navigation in the Federal Republic of Germany. A state (national) enterprise shows some specifics: it is established not for profit (revenues), but its goal is service, service to the public.
