Abstract
This article focuses on the activities and lyrics of Yegor Letov, a russian punk-rock musician and leader of the group Grazhdanskaya oborona. The main part of the article deals with political aspects contained in the lyrics of Letov's songs.
Yegor Letov, as a well-known member of the Soviet underground rock scene had to face many repressions by the authorities. This experience is also often reflected in his lyrics.
The aim of the article is to describe how the author shows the late soviet period and the first years of Russian Federation in his songs.
