The study analyzes the origin, ownership structure and business activities of the Printing and Publishing Co-operative of Czech Agrarians Novina. It demonstrates the specifics of business in a highly politicized and nationalized area of the Bohemian Lands/Czechoslovakia, which go beyond the standard textbook paradigms of economics.
The starting point of the work is the institutional background of Novina. This is followed by an examination of the mecha-nism of decision-making processes and the search for answers to the question of the company's economic results in situations where only fragmentary and disparate sources are available.
