The closure of all types of schools on 11 March 2020, based on measures taken by the Czech government during the covid-19 pandemic, was a step that certainly affected unexpected teachers, pupils and parents. This situation has necessitated the search for new paths in distance education (sometimes the term distance learning is also used).
The experience of distance education was new for many teachers and required a rapid change in the organizational forms of teaching and teaching methods and the need to master information technology. In a short time, the Internet began to fill with various tutorials and tips.
Teachers shared their previous experiences, which were often based on experiments and alternating phases of trial and error. And so a whole range of possibilities and forms of how to approach distance learning was created.
The aim of the paper is to present the results of the probe, which was created on the basis of interviews with teachers and a questionnaire survey among students of a particular city primary school. The final part provides an overview of selected forms of distance education and feedback from students to the work of their teachers.
The results further compare the approach of first and second grade teacher education and show the possible use of distance education in further practice in primary school.
