Abstract
The oldest complete Bible translation into the Czech language (1350s) was produced by two groups of translators. Its text was copied into the Dresden Bible by six scribes probably sometime between 1365 and 1375.
This contribution describes in detail the ways of recording the Old Czech diphthongization ó to uo (o to uo) and the Old Czech umlaut 'o to ě and 'ó to ie, respectively, in the Gospel of John of the Dresden Bible. Furthermore, the author compares these observations with those from the Gospel of Luke, since both of these were produced by the same translator and recorded in the Dresden Bible by the same scribe.
