The study aims to investigate the role of age of onset in the acquisition of inflectional morphophonology. More specifically, this study examines the sensitivity to morphophonological cues in a group of Czech-English primary school bilingual children (mean age 10;09) with varying ages of onset of exposure to English.
The study focuses on morphophonological perception, a domain that has received less attention than production. Sensitivity to bound morphemes is examined using a nonword task, in order to isolate morphophonological effects from semantic and lexical effects.
