Postcommunism, the African 'outside', and 'the denial of coevalness': the situation of African studies in the Czech Republic
Abstract
The paper tries to understand the reasons behind the peculiar position of African studies in Czech academia since 1989. The paper was read as part ot the panel Challenges of African Studies in Central and Eastern Europe during the conference Africa Knows! organized by the Leyden Univeristy.
