The study deals with the specific form of the ownership structure in a joint stock company. It seeks to explain the relationship between family influence, ownership structure and management in a joint-stock company of greater importance, which is characterized by its small shareholder profile.
The First Prague Burgeois Brewery, founded in 1895 in the Prague industrial district of Holešovice, became a suitable subject for the purposes of this research question. The chosen method will be the analysis of the ownership structure of the brewery, as well as the way of setting its operation and management.
The analysis should reveal the interaction and relations of shareholders, the founders of the brewery, the board of directors and, at their intersection, refute or confirm a trend of strengthening family influence in the ownership structure. The study is based primarily on research of primary unpublished sources.
