Abstract
The aim of this study was to describe the electronic prescription system in the Czech Republic (eRecept) and to put it in a theoretical perspective as well as in a European context. The study describes the genesis and development of the eRecept, its technical and functional layout, and ascertains and analyzes its usage from the very beginning until the present.
