Based on the spatial identification of forest stand, the software application enables to evaluate the urgency of spruce stands conversion and to generate the recommended tree species composition for possible types of forest stand at a given site. The recommended tree species composition reflects the specific habitat conditions at the given site and the possible climate change represented by the climatic scenarios RCP4.5 and RCP8.5.
At the same time for a given stand, information on the expected spruce mortality for a given stand age and information on the standardized mortality for 40- and 80-year-old spruce stands, are generated to the software user. The software user is also provided with information on the corresponding value of the ecosystem services of the given spruce stand and on their development for the pre-selected climate scenarios RCP4.5 and RCP8.5 in the intermediate and long-term horizon.
