The methodological materials can be used in the education of actors of sustainable development (hereinafter SD) at the local level. It refers to information sources on sustainable development; it can serve as a guide for all those interested in their use and application in practice.
The readers will learn what type of knowledge the practice needs; what role can play theoretical knowledge in meeting this need; as well as how to develop understanding between scientists and practitioners. The introductory chapters serve as a guide for training within lifelong learning programs.
The methodological materials are theoretically based on the theory of transformative and social learning; from the point of view of practice, they are grounded in the experience with planning, implementation and evaluation of learning program developed for the National Network of Local Action Groups (NN LAG). These courses and the entire program are aimed at supporting the desired processes of sustainable development, through knowledge dissemination and resulting innovations.

The method of communication with local actors was suggested by the representatives of the NN LAG; this umbrella organization participated in the implementation of the courses and guarranteed its applicability.
