Abstract
The topic of this paper is the analysis of the current legal framework con- cerning face detection and face recognition technology. This technology has recently be- come the subject of public debate and controversy, especially in connection with its use by police forces or in shopping malls.
The authors address both the legislation and the recommendations of supervisory authorities. The aim of the paper is to explore the pos- sible uses of these technologies in practice while complying with all legal requirements.
