Abstract

The paper addresses the Convention for the Protection of Human rights and Dignity of the Human Being with Regard to the Application of Biology and Medicine: Convention on Human Rights and Biomedicine, also known as the Bioethics Convention, Biomedicine Convention, or Oviedo Convention which was adopted by the Council of Europe in 4 April 1997. Apart from addressing distinctive elements forming together a whole picture of the Bioethics Convention while using mostly historic, descriptive, synthesis and limited-analysis methodological approaches, deeper analysis will be dedicated to one selected topic, it being informed consent.
