Current clinical practice continues to regard beta blockers as very important drugs in a number of indica-tions. What should be taken into account, however, is that individual beta blockers vary and that the diffe-rences between them may infl uence the overall treatment effect or side effects.
In choosing the appropriate beta blockers, we should focus on the beta-1 selective agents which have good pharmacokinetic properties and whose effi cacy has been proved by a whole range of clinical trials.
