Medieval Legal Norms for Nature Protection in the Czech lands

Abstract

The article deals with legal norms concerning nature protection from the beginning of the Czech state to the beginning of the 16th century. Nature protection was not, with the exception of the exceptional provision of the draft Charles IV Code, the primary goal of legal norms.

Individual parts of nature enjoyed indirect protection on the basis of standards pursuing a different purpose, most often the protection of property.
